Chocolate Sour Cream Cookies
Chocolate Sour Cream Cookies are the best of both worlds. They’re a cross between a cookie and a piece of frosted chocolate cake. The texture is dense and cake-like and topped off with a rich and creamy chocolate frosting. Yet, they have a slight crunch and convenience of a cookie.
When baking these cookies, make sure to chill the cookie dough for at least 30 minutes before baking. The dough is sticky and chilling it makes it easier to work with when you’re setting them on the baking sheet. You can spoon them out with a scant tablespoon or use a scoop (I use a size 16 ice cream scoop). I also recommend using parchment paper or a Silpat on your baking sheet, as these are a delicate cookie and can burn easily. A great way to test them is to stick a toothpick in the center of one cookie to see if it comes out clean. If it does, they’re done.
Terrific with a cup of “Joe”! My family’s favorite coffee is Jittery Joe’s who are based in Athens, GA. Once you try it, you’ll be a fan. Luckily, if you get hooked on Jittery Joe’s, you can order from their online store and they can ship it to you.
