Happy Valentine’s Day!
In less than a week, Valentine’s Day will be upon us. Traditionally, it’s the day when loved ones exchange candy, gifts, cards and sweets. The origins of the celebration for most of us remain a mystery. There are a number of myths as to how Valentine’s Day came into existence. These range from it being a festival celebrating fertility and dedicated to Faunus, the Roman god of agriculture, to honoring a priest named Valentine who defied the wishes of the Emperor Claudius II by secretly performing marriage ceremonies for young couples.
Whatever you believe were the origins of Valentine’s Day, nearly everyone enjoys giving and receiving sweets from our “Valentines”. These scrumptious Be My Valentine Cupcakes are a delicate white cake, reminiscent of a wedding cake, frosted with a pink tinted cream cheese frosting.
